His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Hail Region, sponsored today the inauguration ceremony of the Literature Association, held in the ballroom of Millennium Hail Hotel. The Association launched its activities with the Third Writers Conference, hosting over 200 invitees from various regions across the Kingdom. The event was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of Hail Region.

In his speech during the ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Dr. Saleh bin Ziyad Al-Ghamdi, explained that the opening of the Association coincides with the events of the Third Writers Forum, noting that the forum serves as an occasion to exchange knowledge and developments in literature, its roles, and institutions. He also highlighted Hail’s distinction in culture, creativity, and generosity.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghathami, speaking on behalf of the writers, reviewed the journey of literary clubs in the Kingdom and the transformations in the cultural scene, highlighting the comprehensive development and support for writers and intellectuals in this prosperous era.

Following that, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Hail Region, officially launched the Literature Association’s official website.

His Highness then delivered a speech welcoming the attendees of intellectuals and writers, pointing out the cultural heritage, archaeological treasures, and diverse landscape that Hail enjoys, in addition to the hospitality of its people, which is a continuation of the generosity of Hatim Al-Tai.

He praised the wise leadership — may God support them — for their support of writers and specialized associations, referring to the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and the ongoing partnership between the Emirate of the Region and the Ministry. He also commended the dedication and follow-up of His Highness the Minister of Culture, the efforts of the Literature Commission, and the excellence of the Literature Association.

His Highness stressed the importance of professionalism among intellectuals in terms of performance and national loyalty — in thought, direction, and action — and emphasized their vital role in a time that requires raising awareness and promoting education among all segments of society.
